I think you're right because the context I found was "Zehtner und Münzmeister" which definitely makes it sound like some kind of profession. Were taxes 10% in Luther's time??

I guess I mispelled Zehndner but it's probably a difference without a distinction. Think that Paulus Schmidt, the Zehndner, may have been in charge of offerings or tithes and thus he was at odds with Martin Sanger for whom ML was appealing to the Elector. But that's only a guess. Could be the Saxon Prince required 10%.
