Andreas Ebert in a letter to ML appealing for help regarding a young girl who swallows coins says she would sieze them "bald aus einem Kleide, bald aus dem Barte eines Dabeistendeden". Was it the style of the day to have coins in beards or what am I missing??? This letter was toward the of July 1536 and ML replies on 5 August 1536.

The latin is: "nunc ex veste, nunc ex barba abstantes, nunc ex mensa." Some kind of magic trick? They seem to be talking about an exorcism.

Thanks! Yes, ML wrote Ebert to beware of some sort of deception. Experto crede Ruperto, right?
