In a letter of Nov.17,1534 to Nicolaus Hausmann in Dessau ML says H. probably knows about the new king sent to Muenster and the emissary of the same (Aposteln) to Soest and the paragraph concludes in quotation "wo acht derselben enthauptet sind". So where they ban, they behead? or where respect is given they behead? Shortly after he writes of an Imperial Ban (Acht) against the Zwinglians whidh ML thinks might well rather be against him. Was denken sie an? Thanks!

You've stumped me since the original is in LATIN. But it looks as if eight emissaries to Soest were arrested and executed. So "acht" here means "8".

I think I get it as there is a comma,"there"...Gut gemacht! Do you know if the Soest is the Niederland Soest or the German?

There seems to be some mention of Westphalia in the notes. I hadn't realized there was a Soest in the Netherlands.

Acht. This is actually the german word for 8 or Eight.
